Here are some photos of the house fire we attended on Friday, December 10th, 2009

This century home, 2 storey, had fire showing from all front windows on arrival. The fire had breached the ceiling of the 2nd floor at the front of the house and travelled through the attic space to the other end. The roof was old plank board with shingles that was covered by steel. We utilized the thermal imaging camera to identify hot spots and then began a targeted approach with the fyrestick. White steam poured out of the attic area when it was charged. This greatly reduced workload of the interior crews, reduced their exposure time in the hazardous environment and assisted with overhaul operations. FYI, the outside temperature was 10 deg F with a brazen west wind, making the wind chill biting.
